PRAYER WISDOM To be sure God is raising up an army in these final days before the return of the Lord. I believe this army of God is a prayer army. The Lord’s army is an all-volunteer army. Not every believer has signed up. There is no condemnation if that’s the case. Those who have volunteered to be a soldier in His prayer army need to be conscious that this is war—a spiritual war. And just as in a natural war there are parallels. The Lord’s prayer army must settle it in their minds to stay focused on their prayer assignment until the war is over; must know that we fight against a real enemy who wants to destroy us and the people we are praying for; must know that in a war there are casualties, especially if a soldier is not alert and on his/her post as the Commander has ordered. In the natural realm civilians don’t understand the mindset of those who serve in the military, and are fighting a natural war. Just as in the natural realm, the spiritual prayer warrior should not be surprised if other believers don’t understand your vigilance. Be encouraged. You know that you heard the Lord’s call, “I am looking for an intercessor, someone who will stand in the gap and make up the hedge for the land.” And you have answered His call and said, “Here am I; send me.” When you see your Commander face to face you will receive your reward. “You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier” 2 Timothy 2:3
