PRDP, NUSAF Shoddy Contractors Face Arrest in Northern Uganda By our reporter In Lira: The government has ordered all Chief Administrative Officers and Resident District Commissioners of districts implementing Peace, Recovery and Development Plans and Northern Uganda Social Action Fund II to swiftly arrest all contractors involve in shoddy constructions. The stiff directive was issued by the minister in charge the rehabilitation of the greater Northern Uganda (West Nile, Lango, Teso, and Elgon regions) Rebecca Amuge Otengo during the 2nd PRDP Policy review meetings in Gulu district. “These shoddy contractors are taking us back, we must begin refocusing towards household wealth creation among our people, and we must make decisions that will totally sweep away poverty in the region.”Minister Otengo said during the meeting held at Bomah hotel. Minister Otengo also ordered that any District engineer found certifying shoddy construct of any PRDP and NUSAF projects must be arrested.
