Prior to baptism, a person must believe (Acts 16:31); repent (Acts 2:38); and confess Jesus as the Son of God (Rom. 10:9-10). While baptism alone does not save, neither does faith alone (James 2:24). We contend from Scripture that a person is saved at baptism, not before.
