PRELIMINARY FINAL PREVIEW: Sydney v North Round 4 (SCG): Sydney 6.12 (48) North 13.13 (91) Preview: North has had two different kind of finals. In week 1 they had a great come from behind victory against Essendon, but in week 2 they did all of the leading before nearly letting Geelong back in the last quarter. Sydney meanwhile had a struggle with Freo for a section of the game but their strong forward line pulled them away in the end. Sydneys Three Keys to Victory: 1. Dont let North believe too much during the game: North Melbourne was the only team from outside the top four to beat every team in the top four during the year (including the Geelong final). Questions remains as to whether the Kangaroos played each of those sides at good times though and Sydney will need a good start. 2. Lance Franklin: Its no secret Franklin is the best forward in the AFL despite how much you may hate him, I think this game is going to be close so Franklin cant afford an off day. 3. Stop Drew Petrie and Ben Brown: Petrie has found a vein of form in the tailend of the season while Ben brown has been a pleasant plus this finals series, North will kick to them often. Norths Three Keys to Victory: 1. Play slow: The midfields of Sydney and North are both excellent to the point it should create a lot of intense stoppages and thats perfect for North. If its a scrap the ball will go forward less often and less effectively for Sydney. 2. Brent Harvey: Its not a stretch to say with the MRP accepting his appeal Harvey is ready to take his frustrations out on Sydney. 3. The Ruck: Todd Goldstein had a field day last week and youd back him to beat Pyke, how much he wins could decide the flow of the midfield. Prediction: Sydney. A lot of people would point to last week but theres a large difference in the fact Sydney had a week off and are in extremely good form. North are going to have to have another fast start to have a chance and with ANZ stadium instead of the SCG being the venue there is a small chance, but I just dont see Sydney dropping this one even though I believe it will be closer than some think.
