PREMIER LEAGUE WEEK SEVEN PREDICTIONS Stansy Sport brings you the prediction of matches in the English Premier league every week. Each week’s prediction will be anchored by Yemiojo and will face new guests for the predictions every week. There would be points for each week’s predictions for the guest predictor to know how he or she faired. A match is 3 points comprising of a correct result which is 1 point and a perfect score which is 2 points making a total of 3 points for a match. Yemiojo will go head-to-head with PRINCE ESANJU ABIODUN SAMUEL for this week’s predictions. He supports Chelsea Football Club as a fan, because of their great comebacks in matches and their tenacious attitude. In his Predictions, he thinks Manchester City will come back to winning ways with a win over Everton at the Etihad Stadium; he also predicts a win for his dear club Chelsea and believes Sunderland misery will continue when Manchester United visits the Stadium of Light. You can see his full predictions below. Last week result saw Yemiojo beaten by Kehinde, Yemiojo got THREE results right and ONE perfect score for a total of FIVE points which was not enough to see off Kehinde who got FIVE results right with ONE perfect score to have a total of SEVEN points. Yemiojo is still in search of a win over a guest after six weeks of action in the Premier League. Check below to find out the results of each guest and the prediction leader board. WEEK SEVEN PREDICTIONS Yemiojo Abiodun Saturday Man City v Everton 2-1 2-1 Cardiff v Newcastle 1-2 2-2 Fulham v Stoke City 2-1 2-1 Hull v Aston Villa 2-0 3-0 Liverpool v Crystal Palace 3-0 3-0 Sunderland v Man Utd 1-3 1-3 Sunday Norwich v Chelsea 1-2 0-2 Southampton v Swansea 2-1 1-2 Tottenham v West Ham 2-0 2-0 West Brom v Arsenal 0-3 0-3 MATCH PREVIEWS Saturday MANCHESTER CITY v EVERTON ETIHAD STADIUM 12:45 Last weekend was a disaster for the Manchester City club as a massive three points were lost at Villa Park. Then the great humiliation in the hands of European Champion, Bayern Munich suggests there is a lot for Manchester to learn when it comes to the UEFA Champions League. Starting with the game at Villa Park and the defeat at the Etihad Stadium, Manuel Pellegrini should now be aware of the challenges ahead of him at the club. He must make an urgent decision about Joe Hart at this trying times, his mistakes was part of what made Roberto Mancini to switch focus to the reserve goalkeeper, Pantilimon, I think it’s the time once again when he needs to give him a chance at the club which might in turn bring out the best in Joe Hart. He is too relaxed and that is at the cost of the club once again. The loss to Bayern has come and gone and it is time for Pellegrini to make his players know that the Champions League is the sole priority of the owners of the club at this time and that was the reason why he was brought to the club. I think the first thing for him to do now is to bring out a team solely dedicated to the course of the Champions League if he is to keep his position at the club. Everton are on a rise now and remains the only team yet to lose a Premier League match this season and that is a massive boost for the manager and the players. They were able to hold on against Newcastle and got the needed win that sends them to the fourth position, but I think it will be tight at the Etihad Stadium a bit for the team. David Silva is back and that will add to the bite up front for City and I think the manager should think of playing Alvaro Negredo alongside Aguero more often. Yemiojo’s Prediction: 2-1 Abiodun’s Prediction: 2-1 CARDIFF v NEWCASTLE CARDIFF CITY STADIUM 15:00 I would have gone for a Cardiff City win here but the fighting spirit shown by Newcastle at Goodison Park on Monday night suggests Newcastle United are a team with ambition this season. Cardiff City got an away win over Fulham last week even though they didn’t deserve a win in that game, but I do not see them winning this. They are resilient at home but they face a more resilient side in Newcastle United and that should make this particular match a physical one. Newcastle United have done enough to bring Yohan Cabaye back into the team fully and he should be a massive boost for the team this season but I still don’t see him staying beyond this season at St James’ Park Yemiojo’s Prediction: 1-2 Abiodun’s Prediction: 2-2 FULHAM v STOKE CITY CRAVEN COTTAGE 15:00 Fulham FC is on a serious downtime at the moment, Martin Jol is facing the most difficult time of his Fulham career. It was not a surprise as the fans were calling for his sack at the weekend. One win from six matches so far is not what a team needs and if care is not taken, they might be found in the relegation battle soon. Jol is a manager I respect so much when it comes to turning things around especially when facing a crisis but I don’t know how possible that will be at this time because of the caliber of players at his disposal. All he needs do is to keep calm and strengthen the squad in January. It was a case of who needed a win most when Stoke City lost at home to Norwich City on Sunday. It was clear that Chris Hughton side needed the win and they went for it. Stoke City under Mark Hughes so far have not been playing badly but the transition from the Pulis regime might take some time. He is trying to blend the team into his own style of play and he will have to be patient before the=at will be actualized. It will be a case of who needed the win most once again for Stoke but I will give this to Fulham. Yemiojo’s Prediction: 2-1 Abiodun’s Prediction: 2-1 HULL CITY TIGERS v ASTON VILLA KC STADIUM 15:00 It is interesting to know that Aston Villa got their first win in the Premier League when Christian Benteke was not in the squad since joining the club two seasons ago. Benteke has been seen as the back bone of this team in the past that they struggled to win without him in time past but they did beat Manchester City without him on Saturday and that was so special for the team. That doesn’t mean the team is playing so well at the moment, the only thing I see them do very well is converting every of their chances in front of goal and that is what a team need to succeed. Hull City have been the surprise team amidst the three promoted sides this season, I once mentioned in one of my articles that if any of these teams is to prove a point early in the season, it would be Hull City and they have never disappointed since the start of the season. Steve Bruce is a man that knows what it takes to play in the Premier League; he has played as a player and managed some clubs as well. Against Aston Villa this weekend brings another test for the team and I think this should be three points for Hull. Yemiojo’s Prediction: 2-0 Abiodun’s Prediction: 3-0 LIVERPOOL v CRYSTAL PALACE ANFIELD 15:00 I want to believe no one gave Liverpool any chance of starting the season strong the way they have done so far. The team now plays together more as a team and they are reveling in the euphoria of the success. Luis Suarez return is a massive boost for the team and his partnership with Daniel Sturridge might turn out to be the best attacking duo as time goes by, but my fear is if selfishness won’t set in between the two of them. Brendan Rodgers has done enough to boost the confidence of the team but consistency is what the team needs to maintain the form. Crystal Palace lost at Southampton’s St Mary’s Stadium last week and I think they will lose again this time at Anfield. Ian Holloway must imbibe a physical approach into his squad if his team is to earn anything in matches involving teams that attack more often. Yemiojo’s Prediction: 3-0 Abiodun’s Prediction: 3-0 SUNDERLAND v MANCHESTER UNITED STADIUM of LIGHT 17:30 Sunderland were massively beaten by a more determined Liverpool side and I think the manager to manage this club next will have a lot to do in order to succeed at the club. The club is on a big downtime and it will only take the commitment of the board, the new manager and the entire players if they are to keep their Premier League place for another season. Manchester United fans seem not to be patient with David Moyes at the moment and this is the time the manager needs the support of the fans. I’ve said it earlier that no urgent miracle should be expected from the man, he needs time to settle down, the transition from the Ferguson era won’t be easy and that is more of the reasons why he must calm himself down in this trying times. Off course he can’t do without the fans but he should not allow the fans to destabilize him in facing the challenges ahead. But people seems not to see that the players are not giving their nest under Moyes like they are used to under Sir Alex Ferguson and that is where the chairman comes in, tell the guys ‘this is our manager and he is here to stay, you therefore must give your best’ it is as simple as that, or less he should be allowed to change the entire squad to the one that suits him by making enough signings in January. I was happy for him to have secured a draw at Ukraine as that will at least boost his confidence once again and with a visit to ‘destabilized Sunderland’ on Saturday that might put him back on track again before the international break. Yemiojo’s Prediction: 1-3 Abiodun’s Prediction: 1-3 Sunday NORWICH CITY v CHELSEA CARROW ROAD 13:30 It was important for Norwich City to get back to winning ways and they did that in style over Stoke City on Sunday. Chris Hughton knows the challenges ahead of that match and he was able to give it all it takes. They seem to be missing the final touches they needed in matches and that calls for a need of a striker at this time. Fernando Torres is now on track to be the top choice of Jose Mourinho up front, he showed exactly what Jose needed against Tottenham, he was more physical, more aggressive and even after the red card he was still the choice in the Champions League on Tuesday before he was injured. I knew this right from time that he will bring out the best in him and that is what he has done. Chelsea would have gotten the three points at White Hart Lane if not for the sending off of Torres and his absence in this match means Samuel Eto’o might come in into the squad but he has been so dry in front and seems to be unsettled at the moment, he wanted to make an immediate impact which is not possible in the Premier League. The Premier League is different from=m every other Leagues and that is what he must try to understand. I just hope Mourinho puts some belief in Ba on Sunday as he might turn out to be the savior at Norwich. It was difficult for Chelsea last season at Norwich and I see them struggling also this time around with a narrow win. Yemiojo’s Prediction: 1-2 Abiodun’s Prediction: 0-2 SOUTHAMPTON v SWANSEA CITY St MARY’s STADIUM 13:30 This will be a very open game and it should be an end-to-end stuff at St Mary’s. Both teams are on form at the moment and with Southampton playing at home I will easily go for a Southampton win. Swansea City have started brightly in the Europa League and the Pressure of playing on a Thursday night might soon be betting in. they will need to be solid at the back if they are to stop the dangerous set play of the Saints. I believe they could have gotten a point from the game at home to Arsenal but they were wasteful in front of goal and only concentrated their play on the midfield. Southampton will be the team to penetrate right from the start and I see them winning this. Yemiojo’s Prediction: 2-1 Abiodun’s Prediction: 1-2 TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR v WEST HAM UNITED WHITE HART LANE 16:00 Tottenham Hotspur is another team Ion the rise this season but I don’t see them as being dependable. I’ve made some study on the way they play and I realized they only play their blood out in the first half of matches. It is easy for any team to raise their game against them in the second half and get a win over them, it was evident against Chelsea last weekend when they played with the whole strength that was in them but came out in the second half to watch the flow of the game. It is the duty of the manager to find a solution to that, but they are not a team one can really rely on. West Ham manager, Sam Allardyce must be ruing the defeat in the hands of Hull City last weekend, and that puts them on the back foot considering the manner in which they started the season and the way they are playing at the moment. He might just use the advantage of this London Derby to put the pressure on Tottenham, but the fact is a win is not possible here unless they raise their game. Villas-Boas is currently proving the talent in him, he has made enough quality signings this summer and the rotation in the squad for the Europa League win over Anzhi Makhachkala on Thursday shows the strength in the squad at the moment, it is now left for him to know the players to use for each match. Yemiojo’s Prediction: 2-0 Abiodun’s Prediction: 2-0 WEST BROM v ARSENAL THE HAWTHORNS 16:00 It was a great surprise to have seen the Almighty Old Trafford being pulled down by Wets Brom in front of the great fans of the club. Like I said in the preview of the game involving Manchester United this weekend that the players are not giving enough towards the success of David Moyes, and I think West Brom would have opened their eyes to this fact. Stephanne Sessegnon was so impressive on that day, the way he was moving at the defense of Manchester United was so drenching that they had no answer on how to block him, he has made a great decision in moving away from Sunderland and he might just turn out to be the needed bite that Steve Clarke has been looking forward to. Arsenal on the other hand are on a run of from that still surprises me till now, although one will say a lot have changed in the team, the commitment, the patient approach in front of goal and most especially they are now converting their chances which are the essentials of a team that bids to the a trophy. When the season started with the loss to Aston Villa, I was quick to jump to conclusion that they might not win anything this time around again, nut they have proved everyone wrong and I think they will put an end to that trophyless run this season. The manner in which they handled the game against Napoli brings back to mind the manner in which the invincible played and with the likes of Santi Cazorla and Lukas Podolski returning soon, better days still lies ahead of the team. West Brom will have to put all hands on deck to stop the midfield threats that Arsenal pose at the moment, they must not allow the euphoria of the win at Old Trafford to get into their heads although they will get some confidence from that. Both sides have met in the Capital One Cup a fortnight ago with a second string Arsenal side winning on Penalties and I see this ending in the Gunners favour.
