PREPARE FOR DIFICULT TASK IN LEADING BUHARI TO VICTORY, APC TELLS AMAECHI The South East chapter of opposition party, APC, has called on Governor Rotimi Amaechi to prepare for what it described as a very difficult task in leading the party to victory in 2015. South East APC said this in a statement by its publicity secretary, Mr Osita Okechukwu. According to the statement, the party asked Amaechi to be courageous in the push to unseat the ruling Peoples Democratic Party through the ballot next year following his appointment as the head of the General Muhammadu Buhari Campaign Committee. It said that its recent primaries across the country for aspirants seeking elective offices on its platform, which it described as rancour-free, was an indication that the party was poised for change. The statement added that Amaechi “automatically and patriotically redefined Nigeria’s political landscape” the day he dumped the PDP for the APC. It further said that some people claimed on July 31, 2013 when the APC was registered by the Independent National Electoral Commission that the party would not last one year, Okeckukwu said the party had crossed all hurdles to the “chagrin of prophets of doom” and now waiting to take over at the federal level through a legitimate approach. He said, “Our confidence is boosted more by the singular fact that Governor Amaechi is ready to lead a campaign team of our great party to victory, given his sterling qualities as a man of courage, focus and fearless fighter.”
