*PREPARING FOR RAMADHAN* How many of us are aware that we just have a month left until the Ramadhan? How many of us are already excited about it? How many of us can already feel the spirit of this beautiful blessed month? This is still a good time to start warming up our minds, hearts and waking up our soul. Ramadhan is such a beautiful month full of opportunities from our Creator to not only purify, rectify and seek forgiveness, but to also seek full pleasure from our Creator in the ways possible given to us through the use of our energy, health, limbs, tongue and heart-all for Him. Preparation is key in any type of success and this is all customized to our own individual paths. Whichever your path is, do know that the potential is the same for everyone. One step to prepare which you are already doing is start thinking about Ramadhan. Ramadhan is among the countless blessings that Allah (SWT) has favoured us. Ramadhan is an extraordinary month. Among the virtues of the Ramadhan, that make it special than other months, are that — Our good deeds are multiplied by 70, sins are forgiven, the hell-fire is locked and the paradise is open, the devils are chained. Also, during this month every night and day people are freed from the hell-fire. The Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) told us in this regard that: “There are in the month of Ramadhan in every day and night, those whom Allah grants freedom from the Fire, and there is for every Muslim a supplication which he can make and it will be granted.” اَللّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِى رَجَبَ وَ شَعْبَانَ وَ بَلِّغْنَا رَمَضَان Allahumma barik lana fi Rajab wa Sha’ban wa ballighna Ramadhan “O Allah, make the months of Rajab and Shaban blessed for us, and let us reach the month of Ramadhan.” From this du’a, we come to realize the importance of these two months. Blessings from these months prior to Ramadan are crucial to our ibadah and spirituality for the upcoming days in which we can become purified.” O Allah! You are the One whose Rahma is all-embrassing, the One whose Hikma is incomparable, so grant us the blessings of comfort and composure, security and good health, thankfulness, well-being, and devotion to taqwa. O Allah, grant us the ability to change ourselves for the better, during this blessed month, and not to be of those who are prevented from His Mercy and Forgiveness. Indeed He is the One who Hears and He is the One to Respond. Aameen Ya zalquwatil mateen!
