PRESIDENT MUTHARIKA TO SEEK CANCER TREATMENT IN INDIA President Peter Mutharika will in the coming weeks travel to seek medical treatment in Mumbai, India for his throat cancer that has aggravated since he entered State House five months ago. Inside information shows that the President will travel with his personal physician and will be treated by Dr Amit Gandhi whose clinic is in Shraddha Building, Shop No 2, Wadia Road, Parel, Next To Tata Hospital in Mumbai. Mutharika’s tight schedule has seen his voice growing cracky over the past months and his medical personnel are worried it might spill to other tissues in his lungs, a thing that might be very detrimental to his already failing health. Failure to treat him now might strain his voice even more and he might not be able to speak within 6 months. The medical procedure to treat throat cancer is both light surgery and chemotherapy. Meanwhile, the President’s inner circle has agreed that during his stay in India he should delegate Presidential powers to Gender Minister, Patricia Kaliati.
