PRESIDENT OF INDIA CONVEYS GREETINGS AND BEST WISHES TO THE PRESIDENT OF INDONESIA Rashtrapati Bhavan : 20.10.2014 The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee has conveyed his greetings and best wishes to Mr. Joko Widodo, the President of the Republic of Indonesia on his assumption of the office of the President of Republic of Indonesia. In his message to Mr. Joko Widodo, the President has said, On behalf of the Government and people of the Republic of India, I would like to extend warm greetings and congratulate Your Excellency, on your assumption of the Office of President of the Republic of Indonesia. India and Indonesia are friendly neighbours with historical contacts and civilizational interaction that have enriched both societies. As the worlds two largest democracies and dynamic economies with strong complementarities and common challenges, we are natural partners for mutually beneficial cooperation. Our two countries have established close understanding in key areas of common interest and have adopted a five-pronged initiative for strengthening our Strategic Partnership that includes robust strategic engagement, defence and security cooperation, comprehensive economic partnership and cultural as well as people to-people links.
