PRESIDENTIAL POLICIES ORIENTED AT POST-PRESIDENTIAL LECTURE TOURS One has to be part of the extreme flanks of the American left wing (or worse – European) in order not to admit that Obama’s policies have been disaster in every respect and every sector – in the range from domestic to foreign policies. One of the early controversies of his first presidential bid was the information that came to light with respect to his voting behavior while a state senator of Illinois was about him voting “present” in the overwhelming majority of cases when a bill or resolution was brought to the floor of the senate. I think one can easily conclude that the pattern of his presidency is not whole a lot different from that of the senatorial one by virtue of constituting governance by presiding “present” (I am sure someone has already said this and I am not very original in drawing this parallel). His policies resemble a posture rather than acts of governance, and make an impression that if he does or doesn’t do anything, it is motivated only by the desire to solidify his standing as an idol of the extreme left or some other special groups. And if so, and considering his cynicism and vulgarity as a politician, I can’t help but to think that all that drives him at this time is the self-positioning for the post-presidential lecturing circuit with clintonian scale honorariums.
