PRESQUE ISLE – Darrell F. Faulkner, 75, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at The Aroostook Medical Center. He was born Nov. 21, 1937, in Presque Isle, the triplet son of Howard and Minnie (Guiou) Faulkner. Darrell was a long time resident of Presque Isle and was a U.S. Army veteran. He graduated from Faith School of Theology in Old Orchard Beach. As a young man Darrell worked on a farm, was an accomplished lock smith and worked with his brothers at Brothers Lock and Safe in New Jersey. Darrell was a line-cook for several years at the University of Maine of Presque Isle and retired from the Ashland School Department in 2000. After his retirement, he continually worked as a painter, making it known that he was the “Professional Painter,” always sharing the tricks of the trade with all his friends. He was an avid photographer who enjoyed taking many pictures. He was a self-motivated man, always willing to lend a helping hand. Darrell was a kind and compassionate person who would go out of his way to help others, even strangers whom he met along the way. Darrell let his strong faith guide him through his daily endeavors always with a smile on his face and a kind word for everyone. He is survived by his daughter, Hope Green and her husband, Christopher, of Maine; daughter, Faith Wilson-Mathers of North Carolina; and a stepson, Blease (Peanut) Faulkner and his wife, Angela, of South Carolina; a stepdaughter, Ashley Estey and her husband, Bernard “BJ” of Maine; grandchildren, Justin, Lauren, Dustin, Blease JR and Nathaniel Faulkner, Leigh-Ann Wilson, Logan Caron and Brooke Estey; great-grandchildren, Charlotte “Charlie” and Colie. He is also survived by his extended family, Chris Green Jr. and Erica Nappi, Randy, Colby and Colton Copp; triplet sister, Doreen Faulkner; sisters, Joyce Palmer, Delores Hattick and Anita Clark; brothers, Henry and Eugene Faulkner; several nieces and nephews and a special uncle, Harold Tardy. In addition to his parents, Darrell was predeceased by his triplet brother, Gerald Faulkner. There will be a memorial service 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, at State Road Advent Christian Church, 1135 State Road, Mapleton, with the Rev. Gregory Moody officiating. Interment will be after the service at Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle. Donations may be made in Darrell’s memory to State Road Advent Christian Church, P.O. Box 551, Presque Isle, ME 04769.
