Restore the Popular Channels The Consumer Council of Fiji is reiterating its call to Fiji Television Limited to be realistic and bring back at least four channels out of the nine Sky Pacific channels removed. The plea comes in the midst of mounting pressure from thousands of Sky Pacific subscribers, who want justice. Justice will be done if only they get value for their money. We call on Fiji Television to listen to the grievances and pleas of the 20,000 plus subscribers and show some compassion. More and more Sky Pacific subscribers are contacting the Council by phone, letters, social media posts and visiting our three regional offices raising serious concerns over the sudden change to the channel line-up. These unhappy consumers are expressing extreme dissatisfaction at the manner in which Fiji TV has imposed changes on them. They are paying $49 every month for the service and their interest must be taken on board. These are the very people who have helped Fiji Television Limited build its market not just in Fiji but regionally. Thus, Fiji Television should restore at least four most popular channels out of the nine removed. These nine are BBC, Nat Geo, Starplus, Discovery Home & Health, Fox Crime, Star World, Fox Premium, Cartoon Network and Discovery channel. The Council calls on Fiji Television to exercise due care and responsibility towards its loyal customers and act promptly!
