PRESS RELEASE - NIGERIAN ABDUCTIONS 14th May 2014 Following the abduction of more than 200 girls from a school in Nigeria, the Federation of Muslim Organisations (FMO) condemned the actions as a violation of basic human rights. Suleman Nagdi, Public Relations Officer for the FMO said, “According to reports, we understand that thankfully, the children are still alive. We urge the international community to do all it can to reunite the children with their loved ones. One can only imagine the distress, anxieties and pain which families are going through and our sympathies are with them. “This hostage situation has developed as a result of Boko Haram’s demands to release prisoners in exchange. The child hostages include Christians and Muslims. This makes it clear that their demands are deeply politically motivated.
