PRESS RELEASE 123/13 For Immediate Release December 9, 2013 SAINT LUCIA REPRESENTATIVE ATTENDS MANDELA MEMORIAL Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure, Port Services and Transport, Hon. Philip J. Pierre, will be representing the Government and people of Saint Lucia at the Memorial Service for the late former President of South Africa, Nelson Mandela. The Memorial Service takes place at the Johannesburg Stadium, on Tuesday, December, 10, 2013. Deputy Prime Minister Pierre will join other Caribbean leaders and representatives and fly to South Africa on a special Caribbean Airlines flight at the invitation of the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Hon. Kamla Persad- Bissessar. The flight leaves for South Africa from Trinidad today. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Kenny D. Anthony has declared that Saint Lucia flags will fly at half-mast from today, Monday December 9, 2013 through Thursday, December 12, 2013, as a mark of respect and honour, on the passing of Nelson Mandela. Deputy Prime Minister Pierre is expected to return Saint Lucia on Thursday December 12, 2013. END
