PRESS RELEASE 14 August 2014 VENUES PLANNING Planning on how venues will be operated during the 2015 Pacific Games has begun with various stakeholders including Sports Competition Managers, NCDC, Security and the Transport department attending an important meeting with the Games Organising Committee this week. The various stakeholders were given an overview of a venue planning model using the Taurama Aquatic Center as a model. Games Organising Committee’s Acting Chief Executive Office Clint Flood says the objective of the meeting is to provide all stakeholders an understanding of the venues and how they will be operated during the Games. “Games are delivered at venues and it is important for all stakeholders to understand how things work during a normal day at a venue during Games time, to ensure movement in and out of the venues are operated successfully”. “Understanding how a venue operate enables smooth flow and movement of everyone who will access the Venue be it an athlete, a technical officer, VIP or a spectator”. Mr Flood says planning is ongoing up until Games times as the various venues for the Games are completed with more detailed aspects of how the venues are operated. Ends
