PRESS RELEASE 21 May 2014 BI RECOGNIZES OUTSTANDING IMMIGRATION OFFICERS The Bureau of Immigration (BI) commended two immigration officers for their outstanding performance in conducting primary inspection to departing Filipino travelers. Extolled were Immigration Officers Ryuko T. Barrera for intercepting an impostor, and Marjorie Domingo who was praised by passengers in a customer satisfaction survey. Immigration Commissioner Siegfred Mison said that concerned Immigration Officers were given commendations for their outstanding performance and work dedication in their respective units. Barrera recently referred Ms. Sahara Manondog Amil for secondary inspection due to suspicion that she was not the same person (look alike) appearing in her passport. During interrogation, Amil, who work in Kuwait as domestic helper, admitted that her real name was Juria Karim Butuan and that she used the passport of her sister. She was disallowed from boarding the flight. On the other hand, Domingo received several praises and positive comments from Filipino travelers and passengers while on duty at Clark International Airport (CIA) β€œShe (Domingo) is very friendly and courteous,” said couple Edgardo and Beatriz Cosio, in their comment in BI customer satisfaction survey. -AMTP
