PRESS RELEASE AUTO BURGLARY ARRESTS Contact: Lieutenant Luis Mejia Field Operations Division 209-831-6529 (Tracy, CA) – On July 30, 2014, officers from the Tracy Police Department’s Special Enforcement Team, Special Investigations Unit, and the Neighborhood Resource Officers conducted a surveillance operation in an attempt to identify individuals who may have been responsible for several vehicle burglaries. During the operation, officers witnessed subjects in a vehicle “casing” the parking lots of Chili’s and the Texas Roadhouse at West Grantline Road and Naglee Road. Officers contacted the subjects and arrested 24 year old Dewayne Lewis for possession of burglary tools and an arrest warrant unrelated to the surveillance operation. Lewis was an Oakland resident and booked into San Joaquin County Jail. While officers were completing the arrest, other officers on the surveillance detail witnessed two suspects break into a vehicle in the parking lot of the Texas Roadhouse at 2422 Naglee Road. The suspects were arrested and identified as 29 year old Martin Marquez and 26 year old Enrique Manuel. Both suspects are Stockton residents. Officers made a full recovery of the property from the vehicle burglary they witnessed. The investigation continued to one of the suspect’s homes in Stockton where additional stolen property was recovered.
