PRESS RELEASE Attention was yesterday drawn to a statement by one Alhaji Lai Mohamed and the APC alleging that our leader Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari was among the three (3) persons arrested in south Africa in a purported arms deal. The Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force want to state categorically that this is a blatant lie and an unfounded allegation. Furthermore, it is pathetic that the desperation of the opposition APC and Lai Mohamed to score cheap political points knows no bound, that they will condescend so low to score falsehood in such a serious national security concern as this. As we all know, our nation is facing one of her darkest times in her history and nationhood, but to Lai Mohamed and the APC, everything is politics. However, this time it is not going to be politics as usual, we cannot sit and fold our hands and watch such libelous statement against our leader. It is on record that Lai Mohamed and the APC are used to misinforming Nigerians to score cheap political points. One of such instance that Alhaji Modu Sheriff was one of presidential entourage on his visit to Chad. Instead of joining hands with the federal government and other well meaning Nigerians to confront terrorism in the North-East, they have resorted to play politics with national issues and is excited that the arms deal armed to crushing their foot soldiers Boko Haram has become a diplomatic issue. On this note, we want to categorically make the following clear. That alhaji Moujahid Dokubo-Asari have not been to South Africa for well over a decade. That he is not a defense contractor to any government, arms deal is not in his line of business and he has no such license to trade arms We hereby give Lai Mohamed and the APC 7days to render an unequivocal apology to our leader Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, and retract the statement or be ready for litigation.
