Brick Police dispatch received information from the complainant that a two-door silver pickup truck had left the residence and began travelling north on Route 35. Prior to leaving the residence the operators of the pickup truck were observed removing a utility pole from the property. The vehicle was subsequently stopped on Route 35 in the area of the Mantoloking Bridge by Patrolman Bryan Murphy. Ptl. Keith Donnelly responded to Sunset Blvd to assist with the investigation. Damato and Ellis were placed into custody without incident and transported to Brick Police Headquarters. At Brick Police Headquarters, Damato was charged with Theft, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia. Damato also satisfied $500.00 cash bail for a warrant issued out of the Toms River Municipal Court. Damato was released on a criminal summons. Ellis was charged with Theft and released on a criminal summons. Detective Thomas Cooney assisted Patrolman Murphy and Patrolman Donnelly with the investigation.
