PRESS RELEASE INCIDENT: Sale of Heroin INVESTIGATOR: Det/Sgt LaChance CONTACT#:802-773-1844 DATE/TIME: 10-23-14 LOCATION (specific): Rutland City VIOLATION: Sale of Heroin ACCUSED: Nicole Batease AGE:23 CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE: Fair Haven VT SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 10-23-14 Det/Cpl Sampson Delpha of The Rutland City Police Department’s Bureau of Criminal Investigations Unit arrested Nicole Batease, age 23 for Sale of Heroin. Batease was arrested as part of an ongoing investigation regarding a suspected heroin overdose death of Crystal Figueroa, which occurred on 10-5-14 at a residence on Park Avenue within Rutland City. Det/Cpl Delpha’s investigation led him to Nicole Batease. The investigation revealed that prior to Figueroa’s death; Nicole Batease met with Figueroa and sold her heroin. The investigation is continuing and more arrests are possible. Anyone with information regarding this investigation is urged to call the Rutland City Police Department at 773-1816 COURT ACTION: Batease was lodged at Marble Valley Correctional Center for lack of $25,000 bail. She will be arraigned in Rutland Superior Court on 10-24-14.
