PRESS RELEASE Office of Public Information Felony Criminal Mischief On September 17, 2014 at 7:10 PM, the Clarkstown Police Detective Bureau arrested Kevin Hoyt from Suffern and Kenneth Hoyt from Nanuet, both 30 years of age, after an investigation stemming from a criminal mischief incident that occurred between August 22 and August 27, 2014 at 33 Rt. 304 in Nanuet. The owner of the location called Clarkstown Police Department on August 28, 2014 to report that 6 of the air conditioning units on the roof of his building had been destroyed by unknown suspects. The suspects dismantled the air conditioning units by removing the copper piping found inside the unit. It is believed that the copper piping was then going to be traded in for cash at a scrap metal business. The result of the damage exceeded $100,000 in repairs needed to make the units operable. Kevin Hoyt was charged with criminal mischief 2nd (felony), burglary 3rd (felony) and petit larceny (misdemeanor). Kenneth Hoyt was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle 3rd(misdemeanor).They were arraigned in Clarkstown Justice Court on September 18, 2014. Kevin Hoyt received $2,500 bail and was transported to Rockland County Jail. He will return to court on September 19, 2014 at 1:30 PM. Kenneth Hoyt was released on his own recognizance and will return to court on October 12, 2014 at 1:30 PM.
