PRESS RELEASE Post-elections review meetings at council level The Malawi Electoral Commission is informing all stakeholders that is has organized post-elections review meetings to get views of stakeholders at council level on the May 2014 Tripartite Elections and solicit their input on preparations for the 2019 election, The meetings will take place at council chambers from Thursday, August 27, 2014 to Monday, September 8, 2014 starting from 8.00AM as follows: DATE COUNCILS Thursday, August 28, 2014 Nsanje Ntchisi Chitipa Friday, August 29, 2014 Chikhwawa Dowa Karonga Saturday, August 30, 2014 Blantyre City & Blantyre District Lilongwe District and Lilongwe City Rumphi2 Monday, September 1, 2014 Neno Mchinji Mzuzu City and Mzimba North Tuesday, September 2, 2014 Mwanza Dedza Nkhata Bay and Likoma Wednesday, September 3, 2014 Phalombe Ntcheu Mzimba Thursday, September 4, 2014 Mulanje Balaka Kasungu District and Kasungu Municipality Friday, September 5, 2014 Thyolo and Luchenza Mangochi District & Mangochi Town Nkhotakota Saturday, September 6, 2014 Chiradzulu Machinga Salima Monday, September 8, 2014 Zomba District and Zomba City Invited stakeholders to the meetings include members of the District Elections Supervisory Teams (DEST), Multiparty Liaison Committees 3 (MPLC), Traditional Leaders and Civil Society Organisations (CSO) that took part in the Tripartite Elections. The meetings have been organized with financial assistance from the European Union Democratic Governance Programme (EU DGP).
