PRESS RELEASE Speaker of Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Konbowei Friday Benson has described President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan as a true democrat who has been able to match words with action in his quest to transform the political landscape of Nigeria through his exemplary leadership style. The Speaker maintained that President Jonathan has demonstrated true leadership, statesmanship, vision, capacity, and sacrifice, in his transformation agenda, adding that all hands must be on deck to rally round Mr President for his re-election bid in order to strengthen our nation’s democracy and seek to enrich our national consensus. Speaking further, the Speaker reiterated that as an individual he has no personal political ambition that would surpass mobilising support and solidarity for the second term bid of Mr. President. “President Goodluck Jonathan is not only the most competent and astute national leader of our great party, the PDP, has ever had, he is our greatest political leader, father and mentor in Bayelsa State, in whom we are well pleased. “We are proud of his significant achievements as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria which have earned him the nation-wide endorsements and call to run for second term in office in the 2015 elections”, the Speaker said. He restated his respect for the amiable person of President Jonathan and the office he occupies as well as his unwavering loyalty to him and the PDP. The number one lawmaker, who dismissed the purported media interview, however, advised media practitioners to always cross check their facts before going to press on sensitive issues, so as not to heat up the polity, particularly in such trying times in the history of our country.
