PRESS RELEASE: Temporary Road Closure The City of Copperas Cove has scheduled the Western Hills Drainage Improvement Project, beginning no later than August 16, 2013. Contractors will be installing inlet boxes, manholes, pipe drains and culverts. The project is expected to convey the runoff from storms to reduce flooding of households and property in the area. The project area includes the 200 blocks of Bridle Drive, Blanket Drive, Spur Drive and 100-200 blocks of Saddle Drive. During the construction period, Bridle Drive, Saddle Drive, Blanket Drive and Spur Drive will be closed to all thru traffic. Access for residents will be maintained at all times. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of October 2013. The City is requesting that all vehicles, trailers and similar obstructions, to be off the street from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm during the scheduled project period. Garbage collection will run on the normal schedule. We request that your container be placed on top of the curb and not in the gutter until work on your street has been completed. Residents who will be out of town during this time period are asked to remove any obstructions and vehicles prior to leaving.
