PRESS RELEASE Village to host Film Premiere A movie premiere with a difference is being hosted in South Warwickshire this week. On Wednesday (July 10) at 5.30pm, a film featuring the vivid memories of older residents about village life in the last century will be shown in Tysoe for the first time. The Tysoe Oral History Project has been funded by Warwickshire County Council to ensure that future generations understand about the history of the village and what life was like between the 1930s and 1950s. Cllr Izzi Seccombe, Leader of Warwickshire County Council and Tysoe councillor, said: “It is important that our heritage and culture are preserved for future generations, and this project vividly recalls the first hand memories of days gone by. The film is a wonderful idea and it perfectly captures the history of life in our village.” Kineton High School Year 7 and 8 students helped design the project, carry out the interviews and film the older residents who volunteered to contribute to the film. A booklet and educational materials have been produced to accompany the film. The launch event and exhibition takes place on Wednesday 10th July from 5.30pm to 7.30pm at the Old School, Main Street (next to the post office).
