PRESS RELEASE Well-performing police officials to be encouraged for better output: IGP ISLAMABAD, January 16: As an encouragement for those policemen accomplishing their duties in an effective manner, special prizes will be given to them and strict accountability system in the department will be ensured to make cops more responsible towards their professional duties. It was stated by IGP Islamabad Sikandar Hayat while awarding commendation certificate and cash prize to Inspector Raja Rahat who performed efficiently in tracing the kidnappers and safe recovery of abducted persons. AIG (Operations) Sultan Azam Temuri and SP (City) Mustansar Feeroz were also present on the occasion. The IGP urged all the police officials to perform their duties with honesty and said Islamabad Police have adopted a very strict accountability system within the department to augment their efficiency and provide people better services. A strong accountability system within the department help eradicate many evils and enhance the efficiency and performance of the organization, he added. He said that process of reward and punishment certainly helps a lot in improving efficiency of the department and Islamabad police have adopted it in real sense to encourage the good performers and take strict action against sluggish officials. The IGP awarded Rs. 50,000 cash prize to Inspector Raja Rahat whose professional attitude helped in tracing out the kidnappers who abducted two persons and were demanding ransom in millions for their release. The IGP said that Islamabad police force is committed to provide protection and fool proof security to the citizens and this responsibility would be professionally accomplished in future with same zeal and zest. “Accountability system helps in improving the performance of any department and working of the staff can be easily judged through it. Such accountability system would continue in future and those performing well would be encouraged”, he added.
