PRESS STATEMENT - 15 August 2014 RESOLUTIONS OF THE BMD (of the UDC) ON VACANCIES PARTY PRESIDENT The National Executive Committee ( NEC ) of the Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) of the UDC met on August 13 to fill the vacancies arising from the passing on of the BMD President,Gomolemo Motswaledi. In terms of the Movements constitution which directs that in the event a vacancy arises in the office of Party President, the Vice President is automatically elevated to the position. In that regard, Mk Ndaba Gaolathe is now party president. Further and in terms of its constitutional powers, NEC has appointed Mk Wynter Mmolotsi as party Vice President. Mk Gilbert Mangole becomes Secretary General and Mk Sennye Kono becomes Deputy Secretary General. PARLIAMENTARY CANDIDATE, GABORONE CENTRAL It is further announced that the process of identifying a UDC parliamentary candidate to replace Mk Motswaledi is on course. The Gaborone Central constituency UDC leadership have already identified a candidate, and the UDC leadership will make an announcement very soon.
