PRESS STATEMENT Lusaka, Thursday 2ndOctober, 2014. The Drug Enforcement Commission has arrested a 29 year old businesswoman of Lusaka for trafficking in cocaine. Annie Musonda, 29, a Businesswoman of Chilenje area has been arrested for trafficking in rocks of cocaine weighing 27.3g. The suspect was apprehended as she was about to transact along Kalomo road in ChilenjeTownship. In a related but separate incidence, the Commission in Lusaka has arrested Webster KalikhokaMuzeche, 32, a Businessman of plot No.54 Makeni area for trafficking in granules of cocaine weighing 0.5g. Meanwhile the Commission in Southern Province has arrested a Malawian national for trafficking in cannabis. Prince Ndundambeza, 26, of Kasaka area in Kafue district has been arrested for trafficking in loose cannabis weighing 6.1kg. The suspect was apprehended at Kafue Bridge and has been on the watch list for supplying psychotropic substances in the area. Others arrested by the Commission include, Alfred Ziba, 82, a Village Headman of Efumbeni Village in Chama district for trafficking in 2.3kg of loose cannabis, Jackson Nyale, 35, a peasant farmer of Nyale farm in Lukanda BKapiriMposhi for trafficking in loose cannabis weighing 10.1kg, PhilbertKaseki, 30, a peasant farmer of Kasenge village in Mwinilunga district for trafficking in 7.8kg of loose cannabis and Bridget Kwiya,28, of Itezshi-tezshi Compound in Mumbwa district for trafficking in loose cannabis weighing 1.7kg.
