PRIDE COMES BEFORE A FALL Manju Suri on Wednesday, March19th, 2014 at 21.30 hrs. Pride brings people to state of elation, giving much satisfaction, of ones own achievement An unduly high opinion of oneself worth, an inflated ego, to give birth, priding in acquirement If a proper sense is maintained, to know the loss one has gained, one stands on a better foothold Possessions tend to influence power, which could well be a passing shower, reducing the heat to cold Taking pride in your parents or your kid, is worthwhile a bid, not priding in ones rank or social position Which could have a fall at any hour, leaving you sore and sour, pressurizing you with continuous exertion There is a story which goes to say, of a high school student in his hey day, who was a topper in his school I made it and I knew I would, no one to match my brains as good, but in his boasting was hidden a fool Today he has ended up in bad association, with notorious friends in collaboration, losing sense of ethical moral Pride had come before a fall, none are there to hear his call, he stands lonesome at a corner like a rustic rural Our God does not approve of the aggressively arrogant, the all purpose dominant, he seeks the lowly and humble A tender heart flowing with kindness, an obedience to speak of his greatness, having no complaints to grumble He is the holy one of Israel, who has been guiding me at every mile, his promises keep me safe and secure I give him thanks with a grateful heart, from my life of every part, forgetting not his suffering for me he did endure Now pride will have to search a place to hide, when heavens doors are open wide, Jesus welcomes me inside I shall enter the gates with a loud shout of cry, I will never never die, for his love found in me forever to abide.
