PRIME MINISTER SKERRIT IS FINE!!! - PM responds to malicious rumours about him being ill. I have been hearing rumours and several people have been sending me text messages and literally coming to look for me because they heard that I have been hospitalized. Now, this is really a malicious rumour; it is unfortunate that there are elements in our country who would engage themselves in such evil practice. Why would you want to call on somebody’s illness if the person is not sick? And even if the person is sick, why would you want to celebrate it. I can say to you that I have not been to any hospital, I have not been hospitalized, I am not ill, I am not sick, I am very, very well and the way that these people are talking about it, as if it is a factual thing. ... So it is okay if they feel that they are gaining any recognition or popularity by continuously calling on my illness then that is a matter for them. Those who seek to dig a pit for somebody will certainly fall in it as the Bible says and as Bob Marley said.... I sometimes I try to laugh about it and sometimes I say the good Lord will take care of them but I can say to you that I am not sick at all, I am in good health and I am very focused on the mandate that the people of Dominica has given to me. I have taken this mandate very seriously and I do not want to disappoint the people in any way. So I have been focusing a lot on getting projects moving, where there are stumbling blocks get those stumbling blocks out of the way. So I have been focusing heavily on project implementation. We are seeing some progress and we know where the issues are to be addressed and we are making some progress. But on the issue of my illness and me being hospitalized in Jamaica, in Texas, me being flown to Miami, I mean it is unfortunate.
