PRIME Minister Tony Abbott has warned against public incitement of terrorism before a planned rally in Sydneys west to protest against insults directed at the Prophet Mohammed. MR Abbott repeated a call on Friday for senior Muslim leaders to distance themselves from radical Islam, and the evil things that are done in the name of Islam. The comments came before a rally - dubbed Our Prophet, Our Honour - in Lakemba in Sydneys west on Friday night to protest against negative depictions of the prophet such as in the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo. Mr Abbott, speaking on Macquarie radio, cautioned that incitement and encouragement of terrorism were serious criminal offences, adding he hoped the gathering in Lakemba would be small. It would be nice to hear more Muslim leaders say that Islam is a religion of peace, he said. A spokesman for Hizb ut-Tahrir, which was involved in organising the rally, said it would be a respectful, peaceful, well-organised event. m.heraldsun.au/news/breaking-news/muslim-rally-to-be-peaceful-respectful/story-fni0xqi4-1227194476795
