PRINCIPAL /SENIOR / ASS TRANSPORT OFFICER VACANCY CIRCULAR NO. 3 OF 2014 SALARY SCALE : C4/3/2/1 (P62 136 – P 141 516) per annum LEAVE RATE : 20-25 working days per annum AGE : 18-40 years BENEFITS : Leave traveling Concession Optional Medical Aid Scheme(Govt. pays 50%, employee pays 50%) Non-Optional Contributory Pension Fund (Government pays 15%, employee pays 5%) Motor Vehicle & Residential Advance Scheme) QUALIFICATIONS: Direct entry to this grade will be limited to candidates in possession of Degree/Diploma in Transport/Fleet management or equivalent (from a recognized Institution plus a valid driver’s license with two (2) years driving experience. Entry to C2 will be limited to candidates who have served satisfactorily for minimum of two years as Transport Officer C4/3. Entry to C1 will be limited to candidates who have served satisfactorily for minimum of two years as Senior Transport Officer C2. Candidates appointed at C2/1 will be expected to perform duties as outlined in the Schemes of Service. DUTIES: -Undertakes registration, licensing and vehicle roadworthiness. -Inspects vehicles for authorization of usage -Inspects vehicles to ensure that cleanliness is maintained -Monitors vehicle log books usage -Assists in investigating and preparing reports of incidents and submit recommendations to the supervisor -Allocates duties and guides drivers -Ensures adherence to safety measure -Inducts drivers on matters relating to transport operations and safety aspects -Maintains service schedule for vehicles -Undertakes any other related duties as assigned APPLICANTS SHOULD QUOTE THE VACANCY NUMBER AND GIVE THE FOLLOWING DETAILS a) Full name and address, contact numbers & date of birth b) Enclose certified copies of certificates, Valid Omang & at least two References c) Brief summary of career with duties (Curriculum Vitae) d) Serving officers should state date of first appointment and present post e) All applications for serving Officers should be routed through their Heads of Departments and Permanent Secretaries.
