PROCESS IMPROVEMENT AT DPWH SUPPORTED IN THE FIELD District and Assistant District Engineers of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) welcomed the challenge to adopt globally accepted standards. The gearing up towards Quality Management System has been the theme of the annual national convention of District Engineers League of the Philippines (DELP), the unifying organization for DPWH district and assistant district engineers. In a keynote mesage of Secretary Rogelio L. Singson delivered by Undersecretary for Regional Operations Romeo S. Momo, he lauded the initiative and commitment of field heads to improve service delivery as the DPWH is working the attainment of international standards of quality systems and procedures through ISO 9001:2008 Certification. The 10th staging of annual gathering of leaders of the 180 DPWH District Engineering Offices, the frontliners and primemovers of infrastructure development, is an opportune time as DPWH is working hard to meet the requirements for ISO Certification. Working on for ISO Certification is major transformation strategy of DPWH in delivering improved infrastructure services to the people. The enthusiastic desire for process improvement reflects DPWH commitment to be a model of good governance. Host of this year event held November 7, 2014 at Clarkfield, Pampanga is DELP Region 3 Chapter with District Engr Erelina B. Santos as chair of the convention. The DELP National Officers are the following: Nicomedes Leonor, president; Fernando Cruz, executive vice president; Ramiro Cruz, vice president for Luzon; Daisy Toledo, vice president for Visayas; Rey Peter Gille, vice president for Mindanao; Lorna Ricardo, secretary; Medel Chua, treasurer; Rodolfo Dion, auditor; Marlo Correa, PRO; Fernando Ongkingco, business manager; and Mikunug Macud, immediate past president.
