PROCESSING RAW FILES If you want to shoot Raw files then you will certainly need a Raw Processor, software that lets you tweak the file. Unbeknownst to many people, every camera essentially has a mini-Photoshop inside which processes the Jpeg file, adding a colour boost, and sharpness, along with other tricks like pulling back blown highlights or lightening very dark shadows (if you switch this feature on). Raw files need you to do this tweaking. While cameras that can shoot Raw are always provided with software that lets you play around a little, the general consensus is that theyre not very capable, with the Canon DPP software being the best of the bunch.
