PROFILE Engr. Solomon Suwa Walbe is self-made gentleman who has attained prominence through sheer dint of hard work and resilience. The Engineer is also a man of boundless straightforwardness as he blends with both the great and low in society without discrimination. It is this same resourceful spirit that steered him to join active politics to serve his people. Born on the 26th September, 1977, the young engineer has traversed in life through absolute vigor of assurance, steadfast and optimism for a better tomorrow, meandered through difficult terrains and harrowing rough edges of life to reach a limelight. In order to prepare him to face the reality in this contemporary era, his parents in 1984 sent him to L.G.E.A Primary School, Gurum Bassa L.G.A of Plateau State, and then in 1989 he proceeded to the legendary Government Science School Kuru whose motto is Discipline and Hardwork, where he was molded in character, and knowledge to face academic and life challenges ahead. No wonder when he got admission in 1997 to study B. SC. Geology and Mining at the University of Jos, he outshined with flying colors. In order to catch up with the trend in the world of information and communication technology, he enrolled into Capron Computer System in 2003 and obtained a Certificate in Computer Application. Upon graduation at the university in 2002 the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) posted him to Yobe State to serve his fatherland, between 2003 and 2004 he was assigned to the Ministry of Land and Solid Minerals Development Damaturu as his place of primary assignment. There he was actively engaged in mineral exploration (Trona) in the Northern part of the state and geological mapping of gypsum related areas in Yobe State. Upon successfully completing his NYSC assignment, Engr. Walbe in 2006 enrolled for his Masters Degree at the University of Jos and obtained M. Sc in Engineering Geology and Hydrogeology. As a man of resilience he engaged himself in several life endeavors in order to empower himself to serve his people better. Upon completing school he immediately settled down and began to put the vast experience and knowledge he acquired into meaningful uses. He got appointment with the Plateau State Rural Water and Sanitation Agency (PRUWASSA) where he came in contact with various communities across the state and was exposed to the realities in the rural areas as regards to developmental initiative. The experiences he acquired at PRUWASSA earned him the appointment with Plateau State Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) as the Project Engineer with the Project Support Unit /Monitoring and evaluation, where he continued to work with various communities and groups of people across the state. The young man believes that the essence of life is to render to humanity the best of his capability; this established his guiding principles, where ever he finds himself he upholds a close contact with people. As an advocator of community development this unassuming and diligent young man makes good use of all the opportunities available to him to impact on people around him. This principle makes him participate in various community development associations. Engr. Solomon Walbe is also very mindful of the significance of politics as the key to socio-eco-political liberation. Therefore, the active man in him made him to participate, having acquired some experience working with politicians and public servants in all levels. Considering the fact that the position of the Kanke seat for House of Assembly has been zoned to where he came from, he unveils himself to aspire and by the grace of God to contest as Member Plateau State House of Assembly Kanke Constituency. There is no doubt that Engineer Solomon Suwa Walbe is a compendium of humanity, a philanthropist and community mobilizer. With these qualities and credentials trailing him, the sky shall be his stepping stone, and he remains the best choice for the seat of House Assembly Kanke Local Government Area Constituency.
