VISION: My vision is to make sure that under LPCA Chess is not only played in Lusaka but should and must also include all other Districts in Lusaka Province e.g. Kafue, Chilanga, Chongwe and Luangwa. Work hand in hand with CFZ, AFRICAN CHESS CONFEDERATION and FIDE to kick start the CHESS in SCHOOLS programme. WORK: Manager for Ozone Suppliers and Contactors/Wilty Monty Financial services Lusaka. WHY KIDDY MAKWAYA AS CHAIRMAN FOR LPCA. 1. I have a rich background of chess and has partnered with powerful officers in government and private organizations. I am able to easily link LPCA to these people to enrich chess. 2. Since Mr. Chileya left as Chairperson for LPCA the number of tournaments, has lessened; if not completely dried out. I Makwaya KIDDY will re-instate these. 3. Presently chess is played only in Lusaka District and not in other districts of Lusaka Province. Places such as Kafue, Chongwe, Rufunsa, etc. have been left out and I, Makwaya KIDDY intend to reach all Districts in Lusaka Province. 4. My vision is to make chess self sustaining and profitable to clubs and players. I am a business man and have a wide range of contacts country wide and abroad. 5. Chess in schools is another issue which I will address where strong players will be assigned to teach chess at a fee. CFZ approval has already been sought. 6. For the love of chess I presently support the only city market chess stand that has helped a lot of young chess players to be masters of chess.e.g IM Gillian Bwalya the Zambian Open Chess Champion 2014, IM Daniele Jere current highest rated active player and former national champions and Sportsman of the Year, FM Richmond Phiri Olympiad Gold Medalists.etc. 7. Having the experience of playing for NCZ Chess Academy and rising from a beginner in 1985 to a strong player at national level within 4 years, I understand and know what it takes to improve chess in young players and will use this experience to make LPCA work hand in hand with chess in school/clubs with the help of CFZ, African Chess Confederation and FIDE with Chess in Schools Program which has been successful in North African countries. 8. I intend not to rest until most if not all schools in Lusaka Province from Kafue up to Chongwe are assisted with chess equipment and helped to start chess clubs. I know that this is a big task to undertake but with the help of all those that have pledged to work with me and LPCA; this is merely a reality in the waiting. 9. Once voted in as LPCA Chairman, I intend to work with NGOs in all Districts of Lusaka by introducing chess to the Girl Child which will in the long run give young girls something to keep them busy and therefore reduce on negative things. This will also mean more numbers of ladies playing chess in our league and country at large. 10. As LPCA Chairman I intend to work with all clubs so that 2 sections of the chess league are introduced, so that there shall be promoting of the first 2 chess clubs from the B league to the A league. And also demoting of the last 2 clubs from A to B, this will in the long run enhance serious competition and also reduce on the expenses of the clubs because there will be less games played and this will in the end leave more time for more chess tournaments.
