Sunday 25th from 9am-1pm General auditions – actors with numbers only. “CLIQUE” About When the fame and the money come, everyone wants a piece. Description Clique is a half fiction and a half reality drama that revolve around the life of a rising music star and the relatively dysfunctional people around him. Plot outline Sean is a young music star on the rise, he has attained what many young people dream of: money and fame; he is committed to becoming the greatest musician in Africa. The people closest to him however, are seemingly set on riding on his fame and getting all the benefits without ever raising a finger. The choices and lives they lead are flashy and exorbitant and this leads them on a path paved with all the guilty pleasures; they want life on the fast lane but as we learn, choices have consequences. Characters Sean- 23, a successful musician model; he has all the trappings that accompany a star: the money, the cars and the looks to boot. He is a good boy prone to the bad boy ways by default as he is a woman magnet, also he has daddy issues. He aspires to be a better man personally but also become a global musical icon and win a Grammy award. Jayden –23, He is a model, a struggling actor and Sean’s best friend. He is self-involved and borders on being obnoxious to everyone around him. He is however drop dead and the women love him; though he treats them with little regard as everything else is secondary to him, no one is good enough. Brian- 22, (Arab decent) a deejay to Sean; he is a smart ass; has all the smart ideas but cannot implement them independently. He is a thinker and takes pride in letting everyone know, could do well with the women but he says all the wrong things, driving them away. Micah – 21, Sean’s cousin, he is a leach, depends entirely on Sean and is forever job searching. He has less than average looks and is shy. He has a good heart and loves women, but unfortunately he does nothing for the women. He has no money, no priorities and is happy enough just being Sean’s cousin. Mark – 32, Sean’s producer. He is older, wiser and married; is very business minded and is keen on ensuring that Sean stays in check business wise; apart from that, he also steps in to Sean’s personal issues when they push over into the business side of things. Linnet – 25, Sean’s sister, she is the ultimate older sister and always views Sean as a child. She is not very well off herself and as much as she disapproves his way of life, she sometimes depends on him for monetary support. She doesn’t always make the smartest decisions when it comes to men. Della – 21, (half Indian and half Kenyan) an assistant manager to her daddy’s prominent club and Sean’s on and off girlfriend. She is a rich, moderately spoilt girl who feels entitled. She is possessive, obsessive and controlling though it is a result of deep insecurity issues despite her enchanting good looks. Mama Lia- (coastal decent), she is the house keeper, she doesn’t approve of the life Sean leads and also his friends, but she gets very well paid so she stays and gives us insight into his life. She is sort of a mother figure to Sean, used to cleaning up after him. “BELIEVERS” About Desperate times calls for desperate measures. Description Con never looks this cool. Plot Outline Former university graduates and friends find life unbearable without employment and money. They decide to make a living out of their creativity and form a gang. The gang’s method is to con anyone without using any force or violence. Characters ISSA (male) -The gang leader -Late or mid 20’s -University graduate holds bachelor degree in engineering -Imaginative, talkative MARY (female) - Mid 20’s, ISSA’s girlfriend - University graduate holds bachelor degree in communications - Well spoken - Beautiful FAUZIAH (female) -Ethiopian/somalian/Arabic -Muslim and wears religion head scuff -Mid 20’s -Very beautiful/hot Jackie (female) -Early 20’s -IT geek, dropped out of university -Very shy, soft-spoken KEN (male) -From 25-30yrs -Expert driver and mechanic (must know how to drive) -University graduate in mechanical engineering THAISH (male) -ISSA’S younger brother -Early 20’s -Womanizer but loves Fauziah who can’t stand him -Very handsome, women find him unresistible -Hates school, on and off student, Issa wants him in school JOHN (male) Age 35-50, father, successful real estate developer, arrogant, obnoxious, loud mouth.
