PROMISES...!!! The Bible is full of so many great Promises from God. God has so much in stock for His people and He is ever willing and ready to give to them, besides His Promises are Ye and Amen in Christ Jesus and His Word never goes back to Him Void, it always accomplishes the purpose for which it was sent. And He never fails, so be sure if He promises a thing, He is Faithful to fulfill it. However, Gods promises have conditions attached to them. Even the promise of salvation is not free, it has a condition; u have to Believe in Jesus as the Son of God and He Died and Rose again from the Dead. My problem with Christians today is that we dont read the Bible completely, or should I say in Context. We take sentences and phrases that suit us or we feel comfortable with and ignore the unfavourable ones...we love to claim Gods Promises but are not willing to carry out or fulfill the conditions...we read only the Promises and stand on it and refuse to look at what precedes the Promise. Friends, it doesnt work that way, God is indeed merciful and most times He does things for/to us out of His benevolence. Out of His grace, mercy & love. He most times overlook the fact that we dont keep our own part of the bargain, or dont even come close to obeying the conditions to qualify for the promise, but He does it anyways. Lets learn to read the Bible in the right way, the Bible is full of Gods Promises, true, and God is obliged to fulfill them. But these Promises have conditions that we need to fulfill. And if we truly want to hold God at His Word, we should learn to obey Gods Word in totality, try to do our parts and God will have no choice but to do His, because He does not say a thing and doesnt do it, He is not a man that He should lie nor the son of man that He should repent, He cannot deny Himself because He is faithful. So next time u try to pray and hold God to His Word, examine urself thoroughly and see if u have a case, if u have kept ur part, if u have obeyed, if u have done what u ought to do...its not easy I always say, but Gods grace is sufficient for Us and His strength is made perfect in our weaknesses...
