PROPER DECORUM ON THE USE OF ELEVATORS The Student Discipline Formation Office (SDFO) would like to remind the Lasallian community, especially the students, on the proper use of the elevators for fast, orderly and safe elevator travel: 1. No to “ELEVATOR ROUND-TRIPPING”. To avoid pile up of waiting students or riders at the ground floor, everyone is highly encouraged not to go on “round-trips”. Once the elevator reaches the ground floor, all occupants should go out of the elevator and line up again in case they want to go up. 2. Avoid pressing unnecessary elevator floor buttons. Press or select only the floor button where you wish to go. This is to avoid delay in traveling and arrival of the elevators. 3. Advantages of using stairs. When travelling one to two floors, taking the stairs is a better option to reach your destination faster, to save time and to burn unnecessary calories in the process. 4. Avoid clogging or congestion. For orderly and smooth flow of movement, make a single line while waiting for the elevator and do not stand in front of the elevator doors to avoid blocking the way. Wait for everyone to get off the elevator before you enter or get inside it. 5. Practice courtesy. Be mindful that elevators are being used by other students and employees of the university. Keep it clean at all times and vandalism in any form is not allowed. In case of a full elevator, make sure that your belongings (bags, materials, etc.) doesn’t cause any inconvenience to other occupants. 6. When not to use the elevator. Using the elevator in any emergency situation, such as fire and earthquake, is highly discouraged as power line may be cut off anytime leaving you stuck or trapped inside the elevator. Thank you.
