PROPOSAL FOR CONTINUING THE GROUP INTO 2015: Thank you to everyone who has expressed appreciation for this group and interest in seeing it continue. And thanks to Glendower Jones for recruiting some welcome new members who are wondering what this is all about. For the past two years its been about finding art songs that are not as well known as the standard repertoire that teachers give to their students, and posting information about a new one each day. It started as Jeffrey Sniders personal project in 2013 and in 2014 was taken on as a weekly task by seven people. As the group grew, others posted videos of favorite art songs and links of interest to art song lovers, and we now have a community of art song lovers who would like to keep it going in some form. We have had offers to post weekly from five people ( Erin Alcorn, Hope Hudson, Michael Alan Nathan, Logan Walsh, Michael Robert- Broder), and offers to post occasionally from Scott Gendel, Kathleen Theisen, and Brian Holmes, along with several of us regulars from 2014: Kyle Siddons and myself, and perhaps Jeffrey Snider and Dave Ekstrum. Anna Tonnaand Irina Mozylevahave expressed interest in posting songs, particularly from their areas of expertise (Spanish and Russian songs, respectively), and Heidi Skok would like to involve some of her students. So it appears we should be able to have a consistent level of contributions to keep us going through 2015. Anna and Irina, would you like to post one day a week? The five who have previously volunteered, are you still interested in doing that? At the moment, all days of the week are up for grabs. If we dont get seven weekly contributors, we could have a couple days per week that are open to anyone who wants to contribute, or the occasional contributors could team up to alternate weeks (if they can remember to do it--Im not sure I would be able to). Those who are interested in contributing weekly, feel free to volunteer for a day now.
