PROSPERITY FOR ALL DELTANS AND THE OKUBOR FACTOR: BEIGN AN OPEN LETTER TO DELTA DELIGATES. BY C.C. UWAKINA ESQ. In view of the forth coming gubernatorial primaries scheduled to hold on the 8th of December 2014, I wish to make a celestial appeal to all delegates for the election to put Delta State first as they cast their vote. Delta and Deltans are too big to be bamboozled by any individual or group of individuals. As u cast your vote as a deligate, please be guided by a desire for a better Delta. Let your vote count and be counted as one that established the desired order in our state. Ur mandate as a deligate is your God given opportunity to transform the electoral process, creat a better society and be part of history. Of course history will never forget you for choosing the part of honour and doing the right thing. As u prepare to cast your votes, be prepared also to face challenges, opposition, and temptations. People will come to you with money bags, promises and sweet talks, others may try to cajole, persuade or even threaten you. As you exercise your franchise please do not allow yourself to be under pressure of voting against your will. Do not allow pecuniary benefits to dissuade you into voting the wrong candidate. They will entice you with money, if you can, please reject their money and make history, but if you cannot, please take their money and vote your conscience. Money will come and go but Delta and Deltans will remain. Therefore, delegates must resolve to use their God given opportunity to create a better society for our generation and the generation yet unborn. However, as you vote let me appeal to your conscience to consider casting your vote for Dr. Festus Goziem Okubor, a man who has so selflessly served the party and the state without blemish. He was National publicity Secretary of GDM, before the party dissolved into PDP in 1999. As a party administrator, he understands the important place occupied by delegates and he is willing to accord you your rightful opportunities. He understands that a delegate is not just anybody, but a king maker, therefore, he is prepared to accord you what is due you before and after the elections. Some people will only use you to win elections, and will never remember you again. Okubor, by his character, track record, lifestyle, background, anticidents and humility is one man you can trust. He is fully prepared to take Delta to the next level. I implore you not to make the mistake of electing the wrong person, or persons who will plung us into the horrid past of stagnation and underdevelopment. As a three times commissioner in the state, Local Government Chairman, Chairman of Hospital Management Board, State Director of Protocol and Chief of Staff to the Governor, he is best positioned for the good governance of Delta State. As someone who has seen government function at closest quarters, there is no doubt that he has the best experience required to build a new and better Delta. Apart from being governor and deputy governor, he has seen governance in every direction. God who has given him these opportunities to serve our people did not do it in vain. Your Vote is your right, use it wisely. OKUBORISIM ALL THE WAY!!!
