PROSTATE CANCER.... Today we will start with a testimony from one of our global distributors. Here goes, In January 1993 my dad realised that something could be very wrong. He went to his GP and a biopsy was arranged. Sadly it concluded that my dad did in fact have prostate cancer. He went through an intensive course of radiotherapy for eight weeks. After continuing having an implant every month and also hormone tablets the situation was becoming a worry. My fathers PSA levels (Prostate Specific Antigen) that tests the levels of cancer and the progression were closely monitored. Three years ago these PSA levels had risen to 14.7 even after radiotherapy and his daily and monthly medication. At about that time I had started my own business working alongside Forever Living Products who are the largest growers of Aloe Vera in the world. We were very keen for my dad to start to take a daily dose of Aloe Vera Gel. I felt it could only raise energy levels and thus enhance his life. He continued to take the Aloe Vera gel and was also encouraged to take one Bee Propolis tablet, a natural antibiotic, which aids the immune system.Over this last year the gradual drop in the PSA levels has astounded my dad, our family and GPs. The PSA at its highest was 14.7 and had continually risen for 13 years. After taking the Aloe Gel and Propolis tablet for three years his levels are 0.4.My dad is convinced that these products have helped this dramatic drop in PSA. The whole family has been overwhelmed with Dads progress if a little baffled. However, I like my dad truly believe in the products. His words to me are, I will never stop taking it So, What is Prostate Cancer? Prostate cancer is one of the most common types of cancer in men. Prostate cancer usually grows slowly and initially remains confined to the prostate gland, where it may not cause serious harm. While some types of prostate cancer grow slowly and may need minimal or no treatment, other types are aggressive and can spread quickly. Prostate cancer that is detected early — when its still confined to the prostate gland — has a better chance of successful treatment. Sign and symptoms include: early prostate cancer usually causes no symptoms but when it is advancing you begin to see these symptoms:- - Frequent urination which sometime increases during the night time. - Difficulty urinating - When you urinate, it drips. - Difficult having full erection (read erectiledysfunction) If you want to reduce your risk of prostate cancer, consider trying to:- Choose a low-fat diet. Foods that contain fats include meats, nuts, oils and dairy products, such as milk and cheese. In some studies, men who ate the highest amount of fat each day had an increased risk of prostate cancer. Reducing the amount of fat you eat each day has other proven benefits, such as helping you control your weight and helping your heart. To reduce the amount of fat you eat each day, limit fatty foods or choose low-fat varieties. For instance, reduce the amount of fat you add to foods when cooking, select leaner cuts of meat, and choose low-fat or reduced-fat dairy products. Eat more fat from plants than from animals. In studies that looked at fat consumption and prostate cancer risk, fats from animals were most likely to be associated with an increased risk of prostate cancer. Animal products that contain fats include meat, lard and butter. You might consider using plant-based fats instead of animal fats. For instance, cook with olive oil rather than butter. Sprinkle nuts or seeds on your salad rather than cheese. Increase the amount of fruits and vegetables you eat each day. Fruits and vegetables are full of vitamins and nutrients that are thought to reduce the risk of prostate cancer, though research hasnt proved that any particular nutrient is guaranteed to reduce your risk. Eating more fruits and vegetables also tends to make you have less room for other foods, such as high-fat foods. You might consider increasing the amount of fruits and vegetables you eat each day by adding an additional serving of a fruit or vegetable to each meal. Consider eating fruits and vegetables for snacks. Eat fish. Fatty fish — such as salmon, tuna and herring — contain omega-3 fatty acids, a type of fatty acid that has been linked to a reduced risk of prostate cancer. If you dont currently eat fish, you might consider adding it to your diet.Another way to add omega-3s to your diet is by eating flaxseed.
