PROTECT YOUR RIGHT TO VOTE IN PIMA COUNTY Below is the basic information of what the Pima County Board of Supervisors will do next Tuesday, Sept 2, 2014. Concentration of power in to a smaller number of hands under he control of an unelected County Administrator is WRONG. Make your voice heard. Students have textbooks that define the principle of Checks and Balances. But the Board of Supervisors will turn that on its head when they vote to concentrate ower under Mr. Huckleberry. Many men and women put their lives on the line to protect our Rights. The Board will vote on Tuesday to thumb their nose at that sacrifice. Tell Chuck NO. Show up and BE HEARD!!! JOIN US AT THE MEETING ABOVE AND TELL THEM IN PERSON SEE YOU THERE!!! Preserve Independent and Transparent Election Oversight in Pima County – A Survey On Tuesday, Sept 2, 2014 the Pima County Board of Supervisors will vote to purchase new election equipment. A step long overdue but the Board is expected to follow County Administrator Chuck Huckleberry’s recommendation to change a long standing policy and exclude precinct scanners in the purchase. Scanners are the best means of allowing for independent verification and oversight of election tallies. Scanners help to cross check the final numbers, verify the final tally and can be independently verified. Transparency can be maintained. Removing the scanners will now concentrate all counting at the central location. This new policy will mean that fewer citizens will have the ability to oversee the counts. The system of Checks and Balances engrained in every part of the US and Arizona Constitutions direct that powers be divided and the responsibilities of competing interests help guard against harming the Rights of citizens. The Board needs to be reminded that it is ultimately the citizens that are in charge of government. We will not stand for the concentration of determining the outcome of any election in the hands of a shrinking number of people held accountable only to the County Administrator. Tell Mr. Huckleberry and the Board NO. Add your voice by clicking on the link below. At the end of the survey you will be asked to join a petition to present to the Board of Supervisors insisting that precinct scanners remain a part of our system of ballot counting. After you complete the survey SEND THIS TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS! MAKE ALL OUR VOICES HEARD LOUD AND CLEAR!
