In fact, judging by the unique and exceptional talents showcased by provincial entries, Miss Velasquez-Alcasid in an interview with the Bacolod media described them as competitive with Metro Manila entries and probability of provincial winners is very high. Provincial talents that she saw are raw and fresh quite unlike the Metro Manila entries who are ready participants of previous contests and what you see are trained contestants; the provincial and barangay-based entries despite their “amateur standing” have chances of winning as Miss Velasquez-Alcasid sees them in their respective locale. GMA TV Network’s “Bet ng Bayan” is a reality talent search that will showcase exceptional Filipino talents from different regions under three categories – Bet na Singer/s, Bet na Dancer/s and Bet na Kakaibang Talento. The Western Visayas “Bet ng Bayan” showdown is held this weekend here in Bacolod City alongside its most colorful festival, the MassKara Festival 2014 and celebrating the vibrant festival with the whole City is Bet ng Bayan host Miss Velasquez-Alcasid and co-host Ilustrado lead character Alden Richards. The Western Visayas regional “Bet ng Bayan” was staged in the People’s House main grounds together with board of judges Pop Diva and Destiny’s Kuh Ledesma, renowned musician Louie Ocampo and Bacoleno himself dabarkads Allan K. In a separate interview, Bet ng Bayan co-host Alden Richards took time to give the Bacolod televiewers a preview of his much awaited Jose Rizal role in the world premiere and “kauna-unahang BayaniSerye sa Philippine primetime, October 20, 2014 – Ilustrado. He spoke of the uniqueness of his portrayal of Jose Rizal; he will portray the Filipino icon “as a human being, capable of feelings, failures, yield to temptation at kung bakit siya tinawag na little bad boy”.
