PS - just a heads up regarding the article in The Herald this morning about the vagrants apparently in the Millers vicinity. I have reported this to the beach office and engaged Safety & Security to patrol the area more regularly to ensure that any undesirable elements are appropriately dealt with in terms of the applicable by-laws. This remains a challenge, particularly on our beachfront and I continue to fight for a suitable solution. The attached pic is an example of what was put together and implemented at the beginning of the Summer Season last year. This programme was meant to stay in place indefinitely but it remains extremely difficult to get ongoing commitment from role players. A permanent solution I believe, remains the establishing of a fourth SAPS sector specifically tasked with beachfront and tourism policing.
