PSA - I say this with no way to prove some of what I believe but I do find it interesting that two of the largest providers of beverages in the country are making a change. JoJo and I made a choice over 10 years ago to really try to eliminate artificial sweeteners from our diets as much as possible. If something is needed, and natural flavors or seasonings wont suffice we will use Stevia now instead of some of the better known names that are in many, MANY foods and even health supplements. We made this decision after a lot of research and conversations with experts and PHDs in the health/nutrition field. There is a lot of research pointing to various diseases and mental disorders caused by these sweeteners. I know, it seems like everything is bad for you somehow but remember, food was put on this earth for us to eat. Weve altered it. Ive also been on the board of the American Cancer Society for many years and have seen alarming research in that area as well. Have you ever said why are so many people getting cancer? Hmmmmm! Most sweeteners are made from chemicals and people consume of lot of them, even if they dont realize it. Stevia, at least, comes from a plant. It is indeed washed with some chemicals but at least it is not made up almost completely of them. Obviously you can do whatever you want in your life but I just felt inclined to share this and see what you think. Pepsi and Coke are both releasing Stevia sweetened sodas. Do you think there might be some reason for that? cnbc/id/102046161
