PSA FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE FISH!!!! if you have a sick fish NEVER EVER FLUSH THEM. Flushing fish is extremely painful for them as their last moments (usually a long time as it actually takes quite a while for the raw sewage to suffocate them) are them fighting to breathe in sewage, chemicals, and abrasive waste. I bet you wouldnt want to die by choking on shit and your pet shouldnt either. Freezing is also inhumane—you wouldnt want to die of frostbite, right? The ONLY humane way to put down a fish is using clove oil which you can get cheap at nearly any health food place. Take half a gallon container of the fishs water mixed with a teaspoon of clove oil and put the fish in it. Clove oil is an anaesthetic for fish and it puts them to sleep peacefully and quickly. Give them ten minutes in the container for the organs to completely shut down and they have died peacefully. Please consider this: its not just a fish. Just because it doesnt have fur or because its not cuddly does not mean that an animal shouldnt be treated with at least basic respect. That is all.
