PSA: I see a lot of people still dont know this, so heres some free advice - Ladies and gentlemen if you are seeking a job or you get a job, you must maintain a certain appearance to keep that job. There comes a time to leave the accessories at home and minimize. Less is more in the work force. Take it from a former Employment Specialist who is now working in a Management Consulting Firm. Your appearance is how youre judged by everyone around you. Make a good impression! 1. You should only wear a wedding band or ONE ring on your hands. 2. You should only wear earrings that hang no lower than an inch from your lobe. If you have multiple hole in your ear, you should wear a stud in only one other hole. No earrings around the entire lobe.. 3. Facial piercings (tongue, eye brow, lip, etc.) should be removed. 4. Cover up your tattoos. 5. No graphic tees! 6. Wash and IRON your work clothes. Wrinkles are atrocious!!! 7. WOMEN: Tone down your make-up. You should not look like youre going to the club. 8. Cover up and button up. No one in the work force needs to see your cleavage or up your thighs. 9. Men: Wear an undershirt. Wife beaters have a real purpose. 10. WASH your shoes or wipe them off. Dirty shoes will ruin an entire outfit. 11. Fingernails should be neat and trimmed. Polish should not be chipped or cracked. If it is, TAKE IT OFF!!! 12. Your cellphone should not be hanging off of you. Not on your belt clip, poking out your pocket. It should be unseen, on SILENT. 13. Wash and comb your hair. 14. Take a shower and apply deodorant. 15. Go easy on the perfumes, scented lotions and colognes. Theres no need to constantly re-apply it. It can flare up others allergies. This is an introduction to proper work etiquette. If you desire future enlightenment or need help with resumes or cover letters, hit me up! Some of yall salty now, but Im telling you something to help!!
