PSA!!! The Girls’ Service League (GSL) and its Scholarship Committee are pleased to announce new scholarships specifically for women wanting to start or finish their undergraduate degree. Scholarship awards range from $500 to $1500, which will be distributed for the Fall 2015 semester. These scholarships are part of the Girls’ Service League women empowering women through higher education efforts. Eligibility requirements for applicants are: 1.Applicant must be a U.S. citizen with legal residency in Johnson, Parker or Tarrant County, Texas for a period of at least one (1) year prior to filing this application; 2.Applicant must be attending or applying for acceptance to an accredited Texas college; 3.Applicant must be pursuing an undergraduate degree (AA, AS, BA or BS degree) at a college or university within the State of Texas (GSL does not provide funding for technical or vocational schools). There are separate eligibility requirements for high school seniors, college students and women seeking to advance their education: 1.High School Seniors. To be eligible, applicant must be a high school graduate (or graduating senior by Summer 2015), have a minimum G.P.A. of 2.0 and have been accepted for Fall 2015 enrollment 2.College Students. To be eligible, applicant must be enrolled in an accredited two- or four-year college and have been accepted for Fall 2015 enrollment. 3.Women Seeking to Advance Education. To be eligible, applicant must be a high school graduate, have a general education degree (G.E.D.) or have previously attended college and after a long absence have been accepted for an undergraduate degree in Fall 2015. Selection criteria for all scholarships include academic performance (including transcripts), community activities and service, letters of recommendation, application information, financial information and an essay.
