PSA for everyone training for their 1st NYC, Chicago, MCM or other marathon this fall. Your training plan is a map, it can be altered, interpreted and changed to ensure that you safely make it to the start and finish line. If a scheduled run is difficult to make because of circumstances, switch it do not feel you have to follow the plan to the letter. If the amount of weekday runs are wearing you down, cut back and choose a moderate plan or communicate those issues with your coach. Last rest days are included for a reason they are to allow the body to heal and rejuvenate. They are not for other high intensity workouts. Flex days are for that if you are feeling up to it.
